On July 19 and 20, 1916, the Battle of Fromelles took place on 4 kilometers of front. The 61st British Division and the 5th Australian Division were fighting against three Bavarian regiments. This attack resulted in the disabling of nearly 8500 men.

This museum combines archaeological and scientific techniques, history and the fate of soldiers linked to the Battle of Fromelles.
